City Council recognitions Feb. 3, 2016

Some incredibly talented young artists from Aliso Viejo Middle School (and one from Laguna Niguel Elementary School) kicked off the City Council’s February 3 meeting by leading the Pledge of the Allegiance. The students took part in the PTA’s national Reflections Art Program, which has brought the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. They are pictured with Mayor Mike Munzing and AVMS School PTA Reflections Chair Nicole Volpe.

Aliso Niguel High School Principal Deni Christensen and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County CEO Nicole Suydam were on hand to recognize the Aliso Niguel High School Second Harvest Food Bank Club. The club, founded by cousins Kalen and Trishna Patel, coordinates and hosts food drives and implements other efforts to generate food donations, funds and awareness to fight hunger.
