Tip-A-Cop Sept. 22

Bringing a new meaning to the term “protect and serve,” Aliso Viejo Police Services personnel will volunteer as servers on September 22 to collect tips for the Special Olympics.

The department is teaming up with Macaroni Grill to bring “Tip-A-Cop” back to Aliso Viejo. Working with restaurant staff and Special Olympics athletes, uniformed Sheriff’s deputies will serve dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the eatery located at 26641 Aliso Creek Road.

Tip-A-Cop events are one of the main fundraisers for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, one of the largest fundraising arms of Special Olympics Southern California. The Special Olympics changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition.

Proceeds from the September 22 event will benefit Special Olympics Orange County athletes. For more information, call 949-425-2564.
