SDG&E’s upcoming power outage ‘not expected’ to impact Aliso Viejo

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is planning a power outage this month at a substation that serves south Orange County.

The outage is planned from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on November 30 and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on December 2 at SDG&E’s Talega Substation.  The Talega Substation is the single feed for the utility’s seven substations that serve south Orange County.

SDG&E serves the City of Aliso Viejo east of Alicia Parkway.

“We do not anticipate an outage to our customers during this maintenance work,” said Duane Cave, SDG&E’s external relations manager.  “However, with one of our two banks out of service for this maintenance, we are at risk to lose load to our Orange County customers.  Should an incident occur, we have an emergency plan where we will be able to restore load within one hour.”

The utility’s website lists information about scheduled and non-scheduled power outages.  For more information, visit http://www.sdge.com/safety/outages/outage-map.
