OC Public Works will begin a two-month project on March 18 to make repairs to the southwest facing embankment of the Laguna Audubon Basin, located next to El Toro Road and the 73. A recent geological survey revealed minor erosion within the basin’s piping. In an effort to remedy the deficiency and reinforce the basin, OC Public Works will install sheet piles at the vulnerable embankment. The work will take place weekdays between 7 am and 5 pm through May 10.
All construction activity will take place within the basin; however, area motorists should expect slow-moving, construction-related traffic during working hours. OC Public Works says there won’t be an impact on residents, since there are no residential areas within close proximity to the basin. If you have questions or concerns regarding the project, call 714-599-0681 or 714-559-1918.
