Donate, shop for a good cause

If you are planning a remodel, doing some spring cleaning or want to rid your home of e-waste, consider donating your items to a good cause.

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County runs two nonprofit “ReStores” in Santa Ana and Anaheim that accept donated home furnishings and building materials onsite or through a scheduled pickup from your home.

The ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home décor and building materials to the public at a fraction of the retail price. In fact, Habitat for Humanity is offering Aliso Viejo residents a one-time 10% discount when shopping at the ReStores during the month of March (just show your ID). All proceeds go toward building affordable Habitat for Humanity Homes in Orange County for limited-income families. To boot, the ReStores offer an electronic recycling service for your computers, printers, televisions, monitors and more, which keeps reusable items out of our landfills.
