The City of Aliso Viejo will be recognized on December 14 with a 2017 American Public Works Association BEST Award for the Dairy Fork Wetland & Habitat Restoration Project at the southwest corner of Aliso Viejo and Moulton parkways.
The City spearheaded construction of the wetland project that treats urban runoff from 1,500 acres of mixed residential and commercial areas within Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Woods before it merges with Aliso Creek. The project, which was finished in June, also restored natural habitat to the area. The wetland is being recognized under the storm water quality category.
