City of Aliso Viejo feted for financial reporting

For the 15th straight year since its 2001 incorporation, the City of Aliso Viejo has been recognized for excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association, a nonprofit association serving nearly 19,000 government finance professionals across the country.

The City received a Certificate of Achievement – the highest recognition for governmental and financial reporting – for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2015-16.

The City’s Department of Financial Services received the award, which is based on a government agency’s demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate others to read its annual report.
