Baby items sought for Aliso Viejo’s adopted Marines

The Aliso Viejo Marine Adoption Committee is teaming up with Alicante Apartment Homes to collect baby items for a special baby shower to benefit members of the 1st Maintenance Battalion.

Beginning Tuesday, February 13, you can drop off diapers, onesies, blankets, shampoo, lotion, wipes, new or gently used clothing, powder, towels, washcloths, diaper rash cream, bibs, socks and hats to the Alicante leasing office at 27662 Aliso Creek Road. The office is open Sunday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On March 4, Alicante will also host a baby shower “donation” party for residents, businesses and organizations who stop by the clubhouse with a new baby item between 1-3 p.m.  The event will include light appetizers and host games for all guests, including a special visit from Poppy and Branch from Trolls! The donated baby items will then be delivered to Camp Pendleton for the expectant Marine families to enjoy.

Since the City adopted the battalion in 2016, the citizens’ adoption committee has been working to provide year-round support to members of the battalion and their families. For information about the committee, contact Michele at 949-389-0004 or socalfastpitch@gmail.com.
