The City of Aliso Viejo is gearing up for its annual Snow Fest on Saturday, January 24. This fun-filled event transforms Grand Park into a winter wonderland with 60 tons of snow. The event, which takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., will cater to the 1,200 people who pre-registered beginning
Along with an expanded Snow Man Exploration Park for kids, snow-related games, and long and short sled runs, this year’s Snow Fest will feature two gourmet food trucks — Tamarindo and The Cut. Tamarindo is popular for its Cal-Mex cuisine that last year was featured on Food Network’s “Diner, Drive-ins and Dives.” Patrons can opt for an array of tortas including the “Drunkin Torta,” which features skirt steak marinated for 24 hours in Dos Equis lager. The Cut is known for its all-natural hand-crafted burgers including the Savory Cut, which is loaded with bacon, relish, Swiss cheese and aioli.
All Snow Fest participants must wear their pre-purchased wristbands to enter any of the snow areas. Unfortunately, no registration will be accepted at the event, but residents who were not able to participate this year are encouraged to mark their calendars for December when Snow Fest 2016 registration begins.
