Hoag Health Center will join forces with the City of Aliso Viejo this summer to host the annual Walk with the Mayor event on Monday nights in July. Hoag physicians will warm folks up before they set off for the 3-mile trek on the Town Center Loop Trail.
The business’ participation in the City’s longtime walking program is part of an effort to promote healthy lifestyles.
Hoag Health Center has certainly evolved in Aliso Viejo since opening its doors nearly two decades ago.
Marcy Brown, vice president of Hoag Health Center operations, recently took time out of her busy day to talk about the business’ evolution.
Q) How long have you been located in Aliso Viejo and why did you choose this city?
A) Hoag Health Center Aliso Viejo opened in 1999 to offer convenient access and deliver personalized care to the residents of Aliso Viejo and its surrounding communities.
Q) What does your business specialize in?
A) Hoag Health Center provides Aliso Viejo residents and surrounding communities with a comprehensive range of medical services including Hoag Medical Group, which provides pediatric, internal and family medicine, as well as Hoag Urgent Care and Hoag Imaging, featuring an expanded suite of state-of-the-art equipment including a CT scanner, MRI, Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography), X-ray, ultrasound and more. Residents also have the convenience of a laboratory and physician’s offices on site with specialties including Cardiology, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Oral Surgery and more.

Q) How has your business evolved over the years and what do you see as challenges and benefits?
A) While the health center has been a part of the community for more than 15 years, the addition of Hoag Urgent Care this past year has been a great way to provide the community with convenient access to high-quality medical care 363 days a year. Hoag Urgent Care is open during the week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. during the weekends to treat urgent or unanticipated conditions, ranging from fevers and the flu to cuts and broken bones.
Q) How do you give back to the community?
A) This July, we are participating with the City of Aliso Viejo in a fun community event, Walk with the Mayor, to help build a healthier community. Beginning July 11 and continuing the following two Mondays in July, Hoag physicians will lead a stretch and refresh warm-up before setting off to walk the 3-mile Town Center Loop Trail. Participants should meet at 5:45 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Hoag Health Center. Hoag will also offer giveaways and prizes, so be sure to complete the walks to enter to win!
