Aliso Viejo Boys and Girls Club Summer Activities
The 2009 Aliso Viejo Community Cup Golf Tournament was held on June 5 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club.
Santa Claus and his better half arrived in Grand Park in December, during the Aliso Viejo Community Association Winter Holiday Event.
The City’s Snow Fest transformed Grand Park into a winter wonderland with a sold out crowd enjoying the Polar Slide, Bunny Slope and Snow Lot.
The Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center at Iglesia Park participated in this month’s Read for the Record event, which drew 35 youngsters.
Roughly 3,000 people – about 1,200 more than last year – attended the City’s 3rd annual Founders Day Fair Sept. 27 at the Aliso Viejo Ranch.
The Aliso Viejo Boys and Girls Club summer program at the City’s FRC ended with its own Olympics games. The kids competed in 10 events and were feted with medals.
Thanks to Sheridah Bennett and other gracious volunteers, kids from the AV Boys and Girls Club enjoyed free tennis lessons at the City’s Family Resource Center at Iglesia Park.
The City Council takes pride in recognizing youth sports teams and individuals who make a difference in Aliso Viejo.
Robert and Sheila Lanier were named Aliso Viejo’s Citizens of the Year and Edda Margeson was honored as the City’s Youth of the Year during Mayor Bill Phillips’ State of the City address.
