The following information will guide you in your application for a City Business License or Permit. Currently, not all business uses require a license or fee. Please contact the City Clerk for your particular situation at (949) 425-2505.

Zoning and Building:

Your business operations may be subject to City codes and requirements. Factors that determine whether you’ll need a permit include hours of operation, outdoor storage, parking requirements and signs. Call the City Planning Division at (949) 425-2525 and a planner will advise whether you need to apply for a permit.

If opening your new business involves a change in use, remodeling or construction of any kind, including adding or replacing machinery or equipment, call the Building Division at (949) 425-2540.

Signs:

Your business may conduct special indoor and outdoor events that call for temporary signage. If you have any questions or to obtain an application for a permit, call the Planning Division at (949) 425-2525.
