Karl Warkomski, Council Member
Biography - 2006

In 2005, Karl Warkomski served as the City's fourth Mayor since incorporation. He currently serves as Council Member for 2006. Karl is a 14-year resident of Aliso Viejo and enjoys a lifestyle committed to preserving the environment and participation in a variety of organizations and activities that benefit the local community.

Karl is an active member of Trails4All, The Nature Conservancy, National Audubon Society, Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce, Natural Resources Defense Council, Surfrider Foundation, California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG), Sierra Club-Sierra Sage Chapter, and the Foundation for Taxpayer & Consumer Rights.

He has served on the AVCA Parks & Recreation Committee and continues to be dedicated to the planning and enhancement of Aliso Viejo's suburban parks.

In addition, Karl represents the City of Aliso Viejo as a Board Member for the Laguna Canyon Foundation, Orange County Vector Control, and the Orange County Division of the League of CA Cities - Bioterrorism Committee. He also serves on the Coastal Greenbelt Authority.

Karl graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree from UCI and holds a Masters in Public Administration from USC.

Karl is director and co-founder of The Green Culture, a local business specializing in the distribution of ecologically focused products.

Karl is a certified docent hike leader for our local nature reserves, and leads seasonal tours. In his spare time, Karl enjoys skiing, volunteering, spending time outdoors, and is an avid reader.
